Thank you to everyone who participated in the Giffnock Village Vintage Car event on Saturday 8 September and made it another successful event! Despite a last minute worry about the number of cars to be displayed due to one club’s withdrawal after the sad death of their club president, our chair and events organiser worked extra hard and with the help of local owners and enthusiasts, there were 90 cars on display – even more than last year – and including a beautiful Buick once owned by Buddy Holly, a stunning pink Cadillac and a selection of original Figaros.
There was also a host of activities for children and families and thankfully the changeable weather wasn’t enough to put off the many people who came and enjoyed a day out in Giffnock.
We even had a visit from Captains Jack Sparrow and Hector Barbossa and there were a couple of Minions on the loose visiting our local businesses!
Thank you to all who participated, visited and supported. You can see more photos from the day on the Giffnock Village facebook page – where we also invite you to share your pictures too We hope that the imminent renewal ballot for the BID is successful and there will be the opportunity for more events hosted by Giffnock Village in the future.
