We held our first major event on the 6th of September, 2014. Classic Cars from various decades entered into Giffnock to offer locals and visitors a day of entertianment. With sunshine, entertainment and over 5,000 people attending, the day proved a great success.

Trains to Giffnock were busier than usual as plenty of people descended to be greeted by classic Cortinas’ and Jaguars at the station car park. More classic cars were ready to be found at the Orchard Park – with its stunning building and live jazz providing a perfect backdrop to the elegant design of the cars. Not to forget the many cars at Whole Foods, in particular a fashionable Cadillac that received much attention. There was a friendly atmosphere throughout the day with face painters, balloon artists and kids rides ready to keep everyone entertained.
With the event staged across four locations, the streets of Giffnock were bustling with activity. We collected a few surveys to get peoples’ opinions of the day. As the results show, the event helped to showcase what Giffnock has to offer and was an enjoyable day for those attending. Additionally, we were also glad to see the number of people who attended to help support Giffnock.
We were delighted with the day and glad to see so many people enjoying the day. With a range of stores, friendly atmosphere and relaxed charm, there is plenty of reason to visit Giffnock. Saturday the 6th of September provided a warm reminder for all those who attended.
